BNP-led alliance’s countrywide blockade enters day 16

The countrywide indefinite transport blockade enforced by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party-led alliance entered the 16th day on Tuesday, reports United News of Bangladesh. There was no report, as of filing this report at 11:00, of any major violence across the country. Miscreants set fire on a local Awami League office at Shanir Akhra in the city around 7:50am. Local people had managed to douse the blaze before a fire fighting unit arrived in the spot. A rickshaw was torched by the blockade supporters in Merul Badda around 8:00am. The blockaders hurled three crude bombs, of which one exploded, on Badda Link Road area around 7:45am. On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bombs. Earlier, around 7:30am, miscreants set fire on a pick-up van in Jatrabari area. Local people brought the fire under control a while later. However, the traffic in the capital is normal while a large number of law enforcers are posted. In Rajshahi, four passengers, including a woman, of a Dhaka-bound bus received burn injuries as miscreants hurled a Molatov cocktail at the speeding bus in front of Shubho Petrol Pump in the district city around 12:30am.
