Govt conspires to keep BNP out of polls: Khaleda

Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday alleged that the government was hatching a conspiracy to harass her party leaders and activists branding them Razakar to keep them away from next general election.
At an iftar party at a city restaurant, she said that the ruling Awami League was conspiring to keep BNP outside the election knowing their future gathering intelligences.
The government is harassing BNP leaders, particularly popular leaders, in various ways by filing false cases, unleashing attacks and taking steps to get them sentenced under speedy trial act.
Khaleda, however, said that no election would be held and allowed without BNP and the election would be held under an ‘election conducive’ government not under prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
She said that no election like January 5, 2014 would be held in Bangladesh anymore.
Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal hosted the iftar party which was also addressed by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Liberal Democratic Party president Oli Ahmed, BNP vice-chairmen Shahjahan Omar and Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Muktijoddha Dal president Syed Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat.
