Modi govt wants good ties with Bangladesh people: Khaleda.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday said the passage of the Land Boundary Agreement bill in Indian Lok Sabha was a result of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s wish to build up good relations with Bangladeshi people, not with a particular party.Addressing a group of lawyers at her Gulshan office in the evening, she also claimed that the missing BNP’s joint secretary general Salah Uddin Ahmed had been in the custody of Rapid Action Battalion.Khaleda said the ruling Awami League was ‘subservient’ to India’s previous government led by Congress for which the Bangladeshi people had got nothing.

The Indian parliament passed the constitution amendment bill on Thursday, paving the way for implementing the much-talked-about LBA with Bangladesh.‘Modi’s government wants good relation with Bangladeshi people, not with a particular party, that led to the passage of the LBA bill by their parliament. But India’s previous government led by Congress did not give Bangladesh anything rather  took away everything due to Awami League’s subservient policy,’ Khaleda said when the newly elected Dhaka Taxes Bar Association leaders met her.
Khaleda thanked the Modi government for clearing the way for land swap and termed it as achievement of Bangladeshi people.Khaleda said the BNP central committee would be reorganised soon. ‘Those who have worked for the party would be included in the committee’, she said.
