Winter Olympics day 6: Live updates

Hard won medal

Aljona Savchenko and Bruno Massot of Germany burst into tears and then pump their fists in the air as they learn they've won Gold.

It's a huge moment for Savchenko, who first competed in the Olympics 16 years ago in 2002.

"On her fifth Olympics, HER FIFTH, she walks away with gold," says CNN's Sherisse Pham. "Absolutely incredible!"

Germany takes Gold!

The pairs skating has finished at the Gangneung Ice Arena, and the medals breakdown is as follows:

GOLD: Aljona Savchenko and Bruno Massot, Germany (235.90)

SILVER: Sui Wenjing and Han Cong, China (235.47)

BRONZE: Megan Duhamel and Eric Radford, Canada (230.15)

Final skaters take to the ice

Olympic Athletes from Russia Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov are taking to the ice now, skating to "Candyman," by Christina Aguilera.

It will take an incredible performance to knock the Germans out of the Gold position. China's Sui Wenjing and Han Cong just finished a stunning performance to take Silver but even they couldn't shift the German pair, coming .43 short of their score.
