Rathish murder accused die in custody

An accused in public prosecutor Rathish Chandra Bhowmic murder,  Madan Chandra Milon, 30, died on Friday night  at the prison cell of  Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

He was the assistant and motorbike driver of Rathish Chandra Bhowmic.

Police held Milon soon after missing of  Rathish Chandra Bhowmic on March, 30. 

Later, investigators recovered his body from an under-construction house at Mollapara of the city on April 04.

Police produced Milon before the additional chief judicial magistrate court on April 5 which sent him to jail.

Jailer of Rangpur central jail, Amzad Hossain, said Milon was brought to jail on the night of April 5.

He was suffering from illness since then.

‘We sent him to the prison cell of RMCH on the same night for treatment. He died at the hospital on Friday night while undergoing treatment … We will handover the body to the family after post mortem examination,’ said.  

The officer-in-charge of Kotwali police, Babul Miah, said the key suspect, Rathish’s wife ,  Snigdha Sarker bought a mobile sim card in the name of Milon. She used to talk with to ‘lover’ Kamrul Islam with the sim and made the plan of killing. 

Milon knew of the conspiracy  and investigators arrested Kamrul Islam , Snigdha , Sabuj Islam and Rokunuzaman based on the information received form Milon. 

Police brought  Snigdha Sarker and Sobus Islam and Rokunuzaman to the court on April 05 . 

The court recorded their confessional statement and sent them to jail.
