Now transport worker loses arm as truck hits bus

A transport worker lost his arm as a truck sideswiped the bus he was travelling on in Gopalganj on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Khaled Hasan Ridoy, 20, assistant of Tungipara Express bus, was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 5:30pm for better treatment following the accident on the Khulna-Dhaka Highway in Betgram Bus Stand area at around 10:30am, DMCH police outpost in-charge Bacchu Mia confirmed New Age. 
Less than three weeks ago a bachelor’s student experienced a similar accident at Karwan Bazar in Dhaka on
April 3 and eventually succumbed to his injures. 
Khaled’s father Md Rabiul Islam quoting witnesses said the speeding truck hit the Dhaka-bound Tungipara Express bus where he was sitting on the back seat with his right arm slightly outside the window. 
The truck sideswiped the bus while crossing it from the opposite side severing his right arm from the shoulder, he added. 
Ridoy was instantly taken to Gopangaj Sadar Hospital and later rushed to Dhaka as his condition deteriorated, said Rabiul, resident of Police Lines area of Gopalganj sadar. 
Truck driver Zakir Hossain was detained, Gopalganj sadar police officer in-charge Monirul Islam said, adding that they had contacted the highway police for filing a case in this regard. 
Government Titumir College student Rajib Hossain, who lost his right forearm to the mindless competition of two reckless buses and was on life support since April 10, died on Monday midnight from head injuries that caused extreme hemorrhage, said DMCH forensic department lecturer Pradip Biswas after conducting Rajib’s post-mortem on Tuesday.
On April 3, Rajib’s right forearm was severed as a Swajan Bus Company vehicle, in its bid to overtake, dashed a BRTC bus he was travelling on near Karwan Bazar in the capital.
