CTTC frees bdjobs.com CEO after interrogation

The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit of police on Wednesday freed AKM Fahim Mashroor, chief executive officer of Bangladesh's largest job portal bdjobs.com, after interrogation.

He was arrested at office Karwan Bazar in Dhaka in the morning.

Fahim Mashroor told New Age that CTTC inquired about contents of my facebook and they were convinced that anything defamatory were not circulated from my account. 

Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP, said a team of police detained Fahim from the 7th floor of Bangladesh Development Bank Limited Bhaban in the morning.

He was detained for interrogation, he added.

Fahim is facing a case filed under section 57 of the ICT Act by a former leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League for defaming the prime minister through satirical cartoon and defamatory posts on social media site Facebook.

M Al Sadik, former mass education secretary of Chhatra League’s Dhaka University unit, had field the case with Kafrul police station on Sunday.  

Through such evil propaganda, Fahim created an anarchic situation that caused deterioration of law and order, the case statement read.

Fahim is also chief executing of e-commerce marketplace Ajker Deal. He was also declared best entrepreneur of 2018 by the SME Foundation. He was a former president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services and is a director in the incumbent committee of the organization.
