PM’s comment on Khaleda direct interference with court: BNP

Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Thursday alleged the Wednesday’s remarks of prime minister Sheikh Hasina involving the party chairperson Khaleda Zia was ‘direct’ interfere with the court and tantamount to contempt of court.

Addressing a press conference at the party central office at capital’s Naya Paltan, the party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also said the Supreme Court order on Khaleda’s bail plea not only frustrated but also aggrieved the nation.

The press conference was arranged after the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court deferred the hearing on Khaleda’s bail plea in Zia Charitable Trust graft case to December 12, accepting the  attorney general’s time plea.

Wednesday was set for submitting the report on Khaleda’s health by the authorities of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University but the attorney general sought time informing the court that BSMMU could not prepare the report by the time.

The court also asked the BSMMU authorities to submit a report on her health condition before it within December 12.
