Fresh schedules for SSC, equivalent exams

The education ministry on Sunday published fresh schedules of this year’s Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations following deferral of the exams for changing the date of voting for two city corporations in Dhaka.

With new schedules, the SSC and equivalent examinations will now start from February 3.

The theoretical parts of the examinations will continue till March 1, which will be followed by practical tests between February 29 and March 11.      

Decision of deferral of the exams was taken on Saturday after the Election Commission on the same day announced the deferral of the polling date of the elections to the two Dhaka city corporations to February 1 from January 30 in view of the Saraswati Puja celebrations on the day.

The revised schedule of the exams has been published on the websites of Dhaka Education Board and Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board on Sunday.   

Exam schedules of all subjects were deferred.

As per the new schedule of SSC exams, now 1st papers of Bangla (compulsory) and easy Bangla will be held on February 3 followed by 2nd papers of Bangla (compulsory) and easy Bangla on February 4, 1st paper of English (compulsory) on February 6, 2nd paper of English (compulsory) on February 9, mathematics (compulsory) on February 11, information and communication technology on February 12, home economics, agriculture, music, Arabic, Sanskrit, Pali and physical training and sports and fine arts on February 13.

Islam and moral instruction, Hindu and moral instruction, Buddhism and moral instruction and Christianity and moral instruction will be held on February 15, physics, history of Bangladesh and world civilisation and finance and banking on February 17, geography and environment on February 18, chemistry, civics and business entrepreneurship on February 20, accounting on February 22, science and higher math on February 23, biology and economics on February on 25 and Bangladesh and global studies on February 27. 

The practical tests of SSC exams will be held between February 29 and March 5.      

The new schedules of Dakhil exams shows that Quran majid and tajweed on February 3, hadith sharif on February 4, Arabic 1st paper on February 6, Arabic 2nd paper on February 9, mathematics on February 11, English 1st paper on February 13, English 2nd paper on February 15, akaid and fiqah on February on February 16, physical training, health science and sports and Bangladesh and global studies on February 17, information and communication technology on February 19, Bangla 1st paper on February 20, Bangla 2nd paper on February 22, civics, agriculture, home economics, Urdu, mantiq (logic) and Farsi on February 23, islamic studies and physics on February 25, chemistry, nasar and najam and tajweed on February 27, higher maths on February 29 and biology on March 1.

The practical tests of Dakhil examinations will be held between March 8 and March 11.      

This year, 20,47,779 examinees will sit for the SSC and equivalent examinations.

Among them, 16,35,240 examinees will take SSC examinations at 2,129 exam centres, 2,81,254 students will sit for Dakhil examinations at 710 centres and 1,31,285 students sit for attend vocational examinations at 673 centres.

Coaching centres across the country would remain closed for a month from January 25 to prevent question paper leak during the exams.
