No deal with India compromising nat'l interests: Quader

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday said there would no agreement with Indian during the prime minister’s upcoming visit compromising the interests of Bangladesh.

He alleged that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party was criticising the friendship between Awami League- led government and the Indian government saying that Awami League-led government will compromise the national interests.

While addressing a discussion at Bangabandhu Avenue at Awami League’s central office premises, Quader said the BNP leaders were criticisng the prime minister Sheikh Hasin’s upcoming India visit saying that the national  interests of Bangladesh would be ignored during the visit.

When the BNP was in power they were loyal to the then Indian government and did not consider the interests of Bangladesh, Obaidul alleged.

 The friendship between Awami League led government and the BJP government was not for keeping Awami League in power but for serving the interests of the people and the country, Quader added.

 Jatiya Sramik League organised the discussion to mark March 7, where president of the orgnisation Shukkur Mahmud, chaired.

 Awami League central leaders Habibur Rahman Siraj, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, AFM Bahauddin Nasim,  executive president of the labour right body Fazlul Haque Montu, general secretary Sirajul Islam and others took part in the discusion.
