Landmines placed in the path of Rohingya refugees on Myanmar border

(CNN)Bangladesh summoned the Myanmar ambassador on Wednesday to urge an end to the violence that has engulfed the region and to raise concerns about reports of landmines being laid along the border between the two countries.

Rohingya inflow swells further

The inflow of persecuted Rohingyas into Bangladesh, who fled the ongoing violence in Rakhine State of Myanmar, increased significantly as 50,000 of them crossed the border in the last 48 hours, taking the total to 1,23,000, according to UN refugee agency UNHCR estimation.
