BBIN trial cargo lorry leaves Dhaka for Delhi

Dhaka on Saturday sent a cargo with readymade garment products to Delhi as part of a trial run of goods vehicles under the Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal motor vehicle agreement.
The cargo vehicles left the Kamalapur BRTC International Bus Depot at 4:00pm.
High officials of the road transports and bridges ministry were present on the occasion.
The cargo vehicle’s route will be Dhaka-Magura-Jessore-Benapole-Petrapole-Kolkata-Delhi.
The BBIN MVA was signed among the four South Asian countries on June 15, 2015 to facilitate seamless movement of passengers, goods, and transit cargo among the nations.
Under the MVA, BBIN countries have planned six routes for goods, passenger and personal vehicles to travel across the borders of the BBIN.
The deal will potentially increase intra-regional trade with South Asia by almost 60 per cent and with the rest of the world by over 30 per cent, as stated in the agreement.
