Trial of Jasimuddin Rahmani, nine others begin in anti-terror case

A Dhaka court on Sunday framed charges against banned extremist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team chief coordinator Mufti Jasimuddin Rahmani and nine others in a case filed under anti-terrorism act.

Metropolitan Session Judges Court judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah indicted the accused after taking the charge sheet into its cognizance.

The case was filed with Mohammadpur police station in 2013. The police submitted charge sheet in 2014.

On August 12, 2013, police arrested Mufti Jasimuddin at Barguna.

On December 31, 2015, the Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 in Dhaka sentenced the ABT chief to five-year imprisonment in the first ever case of killing blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider.
