Begum Akhter Kamal gets Ananya award

Researcher and essayist Begum Akter Kamal, also a professor of Bangla at the University of Dhaka, has received Ananya literary award this year in recognition of her contribution to the fields of research and literature.
The award was handed over at a ceremony today at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of National Museum.
Professor emeritus Sirajul Islam Choudhury attended the function as chief guest while poet Asad Chowdhury and writer Selina Hossain were present as special guests. Ananya magazine editor Tasmima Hossain presided over the event.
Some of noted works by Begum Akhter Kamal include Bishnu Dey’r Kabyo: Puran Prasanga, Bishnu Dey’r Kabiswabhab O Kabyorup, Adhunik Bangla Kabita O Myth, Bishwajuddho Jibon O Kothashilpo, Kabitar Nandonikota: Prachin O Modhyojug, Kobir Uponyas, Kobir Chetona Chetonar Kothokota, Rabindranath Jethay Joto Alo, Shamsur Rahman-er Kabita: Abhigyan O Sangbed, ‘Jibonanando: Kothar Gorbe Kobita.
