Netrokona war crimes suspect dies at DMCH

A detained war crimes suspect from Netrokona died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday morning. The diseased, Enayet Ullah alias Manju, 70, died at around 5:00am, prosecutor Sabina Yeasmin Khan Munni told New Age. Official sources in DMCH said that Enayet was admitted to the hospital on November 3, after he fell sick at Dhaka Central Jail. He had been suffering from old age complications, they said. Enayet was arrested on October 2, 2016 from his home at village Kulsree in Netrokona. Enayet along with his elder brother Hedayet Ullah alias Anju, 80, and Sohrab Fakir alias Sohrab Ali, 88, were accused of carrying out crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971. According to the prosecution, all the three accused were involved with the politics of Jamaat in 1971.They later joined peace committee and subsequently Razakar Bahini. Sohrab is now detained in jail while Hedayet is still at large.
