Suranjit fought for rights of people: Khaleda

In statement on Sunday, Khaleda, also former prime minister, recalled Suranjit’swork on the Bangladesh constitution, his role in democratic politics and vocal support to social progress.
‘Our people will never forget his contributions to the independence movement of our country as an organiser of the Liberation War,’ she said. 
‘As veteran and experienced politician, he always fought for the rights of our people and our country and played a significant role in the struggle for freedom and democratic rights.’
Khaleda also expressed her sympathies for the bereaved family in the statement.
