Canadian HC discusses political issues with Khaleda

Canadian high commissioner in Dhaka Benoit-Pierre Laramee on Tuesday discussed Bangladesh’s current political issues with Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The Canadian diplomat called on the BNP chairperson at her Gulshan office.
The meeting that lasted for about two hours from 4:00pm discussed various matters including overall political situation and next general election, meeting sources said.
No side held any briefing about the meeting.
BNP standing committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, who was at the meeting, told New Age that overall matters of the country were discussed. He declined to elaborate.
Earlier on February 27, European Union delegation ambassador to Bangladesh Pierre Mayaudon discussed the current political issues in Bangladesh with Khaleda at her Gulshan office.
US ambassador Marcia Bernicat discussed political issues with Khaleda during meeting with the BNP chairperson at her Gulshan office on February 22. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP chairperson’s adviser Reaz Rahman and the party’s special secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon were present in Tuesday’s meeting.
