Khaleda urges activists to prepare to remove govt

Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday urged BNP leaders and activists to prepare to remove the government before it could ruin the country.
She made the call when newly elected Comilla city mayor Monirul Haque Sakku along with newly elected councillors backed by the party and Comilla unit BNP leaders and activists met Khaleda at her Gulshan office.
Khaleda said that the Awami League government turned the country into an empty one by stealing from every sector.
She also urged the party leaders and activists to remain united and prepare to win every election in future.
She said that the government first feared people then BNP so it did not want the BNP to take part in the elections knowing that people would vote the party to power.
Cases and oppression were unleashed against BNP leaders and activists to keep BNP away from election, she alleged.
Khaleda said that the new chief election commissioner failed to prove his neutrality in the Comilla city polls and worked in favour of the ruling Awami League.
She said fair election would not be held under the incumbent chief election commissioner.
