Take out ‘No Parking’ signs from roads: Annisul

Dhaka north city mayor Annisul Huq on Friday called on the private organisations and firms to take out ‘No Parking’ signs that were put up occupying city roads.
‘Who are you to say ‘No Parking’ on public roads?’ the mayor asked, saying that he found such notices on many roads, including on a street adjacent to Saudi Arabia embassy in Dhaka where the private security fire G4S had erected such signs.
‘If necessary, City Corporation will take action against these organisations,’ he said asking all to remove such signs from the streets within seven days.
He was addressing a discussion as a chief guest organised by Urban and Regional Planning department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology on the campus in Dhaka, marking URP Day 2017. 
‘I am trying to ensure a city which is free from water logging and traffic jam, and is livable, safe, green and clean for all,’ said the mayor.
He requested city people to cooperate with him said a mayor could not solve all problems until the residents became aware.
Among others, Khulna University vice-chancellor Golam Rahman, Bangladesh Institute of Planners’ president AKM Abul Kalam and BUET’s URP department chairman Afsana Haque were present.
