Comply with party decision, says Hasina.

Awami League president Sheikh Hasina, also the prime minister, on Friday warned the party’s Dhaka city leaders and activists to face consequences if they refused to comply with any of party decisions. ‘Party decision is mandatory for all. If the party takes any decision for greater interest, all the party leaders and activists will have to comply with it or otherwise face consequences,’ she said. The prime minister issued the warning in a meeting with the leaders and activists of Dhaka city Awami League, lawmakers of different constituencies of Dhaka and the party’s mayoral and councillor aspirants, at her official residence, Ganabhaban, in the evening, in her bid to prevent the leaders to become rebel candidates in the three city corporations elections. She introduced businessman Annisul Huq and Dhaka city AL organising secretary Sayeed Khokon to the leaders and activists as party’s mayoral candidates in the elections to Dhaka north and Dhaka south city corporations and asked the party men to work for them. The party president told the meeting that a single candidate would also be picked up for the councillor posts, he said.
