Indian student stabbed dead in Chittagong

An Indian student was stabbed to death allegedly by another one in Khulsi area under Akbar Shah police station in Chittagong city early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Asif Seth, 25, a student of University of Science and Technology Chittagong.

Jakir Hossain Bhuiyan, sub-inspector of the police station, said that two Indian students Asif and Tarun Wilson, 26, used to live in a rented room at Bilkis Mansion adjacent to Foy's Lake.

They were taking liquor in their room around 1:00am. At one stage, they locked into an altercation.

Later, they stabbed each other with a sharp weapon.

Hearing screaming of them, residents of the building rushed in and found their room locked from inside.

They later informed police.

Breaking the door, police recovered the body of Asif.

They also rescued Wilson in a critical condition as he was found hanging with a rope.

The police official said that the students, from Monipur state, were studying MBA at the university.
