Six killed in Faridpur road accident

At least six people including two women were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a microbus on Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Madhukhali upazila in Faridpur on Friday night.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Police said all the victims were travelling by the microbus. It could not be confirmed immediately whether its driver was among the victims or not.

The accident took place at Kazir Rasta intersection around 11:00pm when the Satkhira-bound microbus from Dhaka hit the bus of Shyamoli Paribahan coming from opposite direction, said Ruhul Amin, officer-in-charge of Madhukhali police station.

Five travellers of the microbus died on the spot and six others from both the vehicles got injured, he said.

The injured were rushed to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital where one of them died later, the police official added.
