Two cases were filed on Friday night over the mysterious death of domestic help Laili Begum at her employer’s residence at Banasree in the capital.
The victim’s brother-in-law, Shahidul Islam, filed a case with Khilgaon Police Station accusing her employer Munshi Moin Uddin, his wife Shahnaj Begum, their security guard Tofazzel Hossain and three unidentified people, said sub-inspector Md Monsur Ahmed.
SI Manjur of the police station lodged the other case naming 37 people and 400 to 500 unidentified people for vandalising, setting fire and obstructing government activities during the violent protests centering the death of the domestic help.
He said that they had already arrested Moin, Shahnaj and Tofazzel and sent them to a Dhaka court.
Investigation officer of the case SI Manjur Rahman said he produced the trio before Dhaka metropolitan magistrate AKM Main Uddin seeking a seven-day remand for interrogation Moin and Tofazzel.
The court allowed a three-day remand for the duo and sent Shahnaj to jail, he said.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Medical College forensic department head, who led the post-mortem examination of Lili’s body, told reporters in the afternoon that they found a minor injury mark in the head and throat of her.
