Muhith’s comments on 16th amendment personal: OQ

Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, also general secretary of the ruling Awami League, said on Sunday that the finance minister’s comments about the verdict on the 16th amendment were his personal opinion.
He told it to the reporters after a contract signing programme held at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon in the capital.
There was no opportunity to give any abrupt and ill-tempered comments on the amendment, he also
said.
He added that his party would give its reaction over the matter soon.
About Bangladesh Nationalist Party leaders’ comments on the country’s present law and order, he said the judiciary in Bangladesh was currently independent.
Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Friday said that the constitution would be amended again and again to restore the power of parliament to remove Supreme Court judges for misconduct or incapacity.
While inspecting the proposed site of Sylhet Medical University in the afternoon at Alampur in Dakkhin Surma in the city, Muhith came up with the comment responding to a question about the government’s initiative after the Supreme Court scrapped the 16th constitutional amendment that had empowered parliament to remove judges.
