It’s make or break for Tigers

Bangladesh will have another opportunity to make some impression in their tour of South Africa when they will face the hosts in the second one-day international match in Paarl today.
The Tigers must win the game or lose the series that they won two years ago against the side at home.
The match will start at 2:00pm and will be televised live on GTV, Maasranga and Sony Six channel.
This will be the first match for Bangladesh at the former European settlement in Western Cape Province, which so far hosted 10 one-day internationals but none in last five years.
Paarl’s lack of international exposure was evident when Bangladesh made their first training session at Boland Park, the venue for today’s match.
Team manager Minhajul Abedin told New Age that they found the ground in appalling condition, though the team was not too much concerned about it.
‘It should be same for both Bangladesh and South Africa. So we not that much worried and looking forward to playing the match,’ said Minhajul.
Apparently, Bangladesh was more worried about the participation of opener Tamim Iqbal, who missed the first match through injury and was not cleared for this game till filing this report.
‘Tamim has 80 per cent chance of playing,’ said Minhajul, adding that they will wait until the last moment for team.
Tamim represented the Tigers at the official press conference giving a broad hint about his returning to full fitness.
Apart from Tamim’s fitness, Bangladesh also had some worries about their bowlers who continued to misfire in the series.
Tamim, however, hoped they would come out with the best in the series-deciding match.
‘The bowlers haven’t fulfilled expectations on this tour but it doesn’t mean they can’t do it tomorrow,’ said Tamim.
The match could be interrupted by rain with pitch remaining under the cover on Tuesday due to drizzling.
‘So far the forecast is good and I hope it will be a complete match,’ said Bangladesh manager Minhajul.
