Khaleda declared war against court: Quader

Ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday said that Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia declared war against court over the verdict in a graft case against her.
Addressing a press briefing at Dhanmandi-3 office of the party president in the evening, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minster, said that Khaleda lied at her press briefing at her office on the day.
‘She also tried to create anarchy through instigation and bring the matter of court to the streets as she failed to wage movements,’ Quader said.
Quader called on all democratic and patriotic political forces to be united to resist anarchy.
‘Our party Awami League and the AL-led government have nothing to do with the verdict of the court,’ Quader.
‘We shall not take any programme over the issue as our party does not believe in confrontational politics,’ Quader said.
But Dhaka Metropolitan Police took some measures to maintain law and order in the Dhaka as they had information that the BNP leaders and activists could create anarchies, Quader added.
Central leaders of the party Mukul Bose, Dipu Moni, Ashim Kumar Ukil, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Hasan Mahmud, Abus Sobhan Golap, Mohibul Hassan Chowdhuory, SM Kamal Hossain, Ramoyond Areng, Marufa Akter Poppy and others attended the press conference.
A special court set up in old town of the capital is scheduled to deliver verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case against Khaleda today.
