BNP patronises attackers on Zafar Iqbal: Quader

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday said that extremists were responsible for the attack on Shahjalal University of Science and Technology professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal.
Author Zafar Iqbal was stabbed by a youth while he was speaking at a programme of his department on the campus on Saturday afternoon.
He was now under treatment at Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka and doctors told the media on Sunday that he was safe.
Before distributing leaflets for mass contact for March 7 rally at Suhrawardy Udyan, Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said that the attack on Zafar was a conspiracy against the progressive and pro-liberation forces and BNP patronised the attackers.
The attack also proved that the extremist forces could not be controlled totally, Quader said.
AL central leaders AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Abdus Sobhan Golap and others also took part in the programme.
However, while visiting the preparations of the making podium and Suhrawardy Udyan, at noon, Quader said the law enforcers would find out the culprits responsible for the attack.
They also find out the patronisers and both would be brought to book and no one would remain unpunished, Quader said.
Mosharraf Hossain, executive committee member of Awami League and public works minister, central leaders Hasan Mahmud, Ashim Kumar Ukil, AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Shahe Alam Murad and others accompanied Quader.
