Chandimal suspended, Mahmudullah fined

Sri Lanka skipper Dinesh Chandimal received a two-match suspension from Twenty20 internationals while Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah was also fined 20 per cent of his match fees for  slow over-rate during their Saturday's match in Colombo.

The other Bangladeshi players also received 10 per cent fines after their side was ruled to be one over short in the high-intensity game at R. Premadasa Stadium.

Unlike Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, who took repeated timeout while they were struggling to defend a total of 214 runs, paid a heavy penalty for actions.

Sri Lanka were found four overs short of their target when time allowances were taken into consideration and as result captain was suspended from Sri Lanka's upcoming two Twenty20 Internationals in the tri-nation series.

Every Sri Lankan player received a fine of 60 per cent for their match fees for the same offence.
