Khaleda gets four months bail

The High Court on Monday granted four months bail to former prime minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

A bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim issued the bail order.

The court passed the order on the bail petition after receiving all the documents relating to the judgment from the lower court.

On February 22, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia filed petition with the High Court seeking bail in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

On February 8, the Dhaka Special Judge’s Court 5 handed five years’ jail to Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust Corruption Case.

Her son Tarique Rahman and four others were handed 10 years’ jail in the case.
