AL wins sky and sea but not people’s love: Ershad

Jatitya Party chairman HM Ershad said on Sunday that the Awami League-led government had won the sky and sea, but failed to win the love of the people.
Ershad made this remark while speaking to the journalists at the circuit house in Rangpur city.
He said that Awami League had accomplished massive development programmes in the country but could not reach the heart of the people.
Terming Awami League a better party than its rival Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Ershad promised to remain as its ally in the upcoming national election.
‘Success in the election would depend on the people’s will. It is the rule and it needs to be like that,’ said Ershad.
Indicating BNP, he said, even if they do not join the election, JP would go for election and that would be enough to make it acceptable.
City Mayor and JP City unit president, Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa and city unit secretary SM Yeasir were among others present at that time.
