World needs to care about Rohingya plight: Priyanka Chopra

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra arrived in Bangladesh on a three-day visit on Monday to see for herself the plight of Rohingya children as part of her role as UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Priyanka shared the news of her visit to Rohingya refugee camps on Twitter with an accompanied photo of her sitting by the window of an airplane.
‘The world needs to care. We need to care,’ she wrote.
Cox’s Bazar additional superintendent of police Afruzul Haq Tutul said Priyanka reached Cox’s Bazar airport around 12:45pm.
Priyanka visited a Rohingya refugee camp at Shamlapur in Teknaf in the afternoon, said Tutul.
Over a million Rohingya refugees crossed over the border into Bangladesh from neighbouring Myanmar fleeing violence in northern Rakhine state of the country.
A large number of the refugees are children.
The former Miss World is expected to visit more Rohingya camps in Teknaf and Ukhiya on May 22 and 23, said Tutul.
Chopra will leave Bangladesh on May 24.
