JOF leaves meeting with CEC after heated debate

A delegation of Jatiya Oikya Front led by its top leader Kamal Hossain on Tuesday walked out of a meeting with the chief election commissioner following a heated argument over the role of police.

Walking out of the meeting, Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters they left the meeting as CEC KM Nurul Huda’s behaviour with Kamal Hossain and others was ‘rough and intolerable’.

Delegation member Zafrullah Chowdhory said he had never experienced such behaviour from a responsible person.

JOF walked out the meeting at about 1:45pm that was started at 12:00pm, he added.
