RAPE, MURDER ON MOVING BUS Evidence found, 5 suspects taken on remand

The doctors of Kishoreganj General Hospital who conducted the post mortem examination of nurse Shahinur Akther Tania said Wednesday that the evidence they found shows that she was murdered after raping by more than one man.
She was raped in a running bus before the murder and a scarf was found wrapped around her neck. 
A court in Kishoreganj allowed Bajitpur police to take five suspects on remand for eight days interrogations for the raping and murder.
Shahinur, 24, daughter of Gias Uddin of Pirijpur, Bajitpur, Kishoreganj, was nurse at a private hospital in the capital.
She became a victim of raping in a running bus of Swarnalata Paribahan near Gazaria, Bajitpur, on her way home from the capital Monday night.
Her murder after raping occurred amidst increasing incidence of murder after raping and violence against women and nationwide protests demanding justice for Nusrat Jahan Rafi, who was burnt to death for protesting sexual harassment by her madrassah principal.
The evidence of raping by more than one accused was found by doctors who conducted the autopsy on nurse Shahinur, Kishoreganj civil surgeon Md Habibur Rahman told reporters Wednesday.
Bajitpur police station inspector (investigation) Sarwar Jahan said the he produced five arrested accused, bus driver Nuruzzaman, his helper Lalan Mia and suspects Rafikul Islam, Khokon Mia and Bakul Mia in the court of additional chief judicial magistrate Al Mamun seeking remand for 10 days.
According to the case statement Tania had boarded a Swarnalata Paribahan bus at Mohakhali Bus Terminal Monday afternoon to go home.
On Tuesday, Shahinur’s father Gias Uddin filed the case with Bazitpur Police Station.
When the bus reached Ujanpur, Katiadi, other passengers except Shahinur got down from the bus at about around 9:30pm and the bus driver, his helper and the others raped her in the running bus and strangled her with her scarf before throwing her body out of the bus at Gazaria.
Locals spotted the victim’s body on the road and took her to Katiadi Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared her dead at about 10:45pm on Monday.
Feni Madrassah girl Nusrat was burnt on April 6 and she died on April 10 while under treatment.
On August 25, 2017, law student Zakia Sultana Rupa was killed after raping in a running bus by bus staff in Tangail on August 25, 2017. The rapists concealed her body.
