Another PCJSS activist shot dead in Bandarban

Two days after an activist of Parbatya Chattogram Jana Samhati Samiti was shot dead, another activist of the regional political party was shot and murdered by unidentified assailants on Thursday evening.
Joy Boli Tongchongya, in his early fifties, was shot dead near a rubber garden at Kuhalong union of Bandarban sadar upazila at about 7:45pm on Thursday, said Bandarban sadar police officer-in-charge Shahidul Islam. 
Earlier on Tuesday night, another PCJSS activist Binoy Tonchangya of Kaptai upazila in Rangamati, was shot dead at Tayingkahli Bazar at Sadar upazila in Bandarban.
Locals said Joy Boli went to the village market to have tea. The assailants searched for his son Rupan Tongchongya. Finding no whereabouts of Rupan, the assailants shot Joy Boli to death.
The police officer said the body of Joy Boli was recovered from the spot and sent to district sadar hospital for autopsy. After autopsy the body was handed over to the deceased family.
The OC said the deceased was a member of a regional political party PCJSS. He could neither tell about the motive nor about the identity of the assailants.
Chairman of Kuhalong Union Parishad Sha Nu Prue Marma said that a group of six to seven men came to the small market and shot Joy Boli Tongchongya to death on the spot.
He said his son Rupan Tongchongya is a member of Pahari Chattra Parishad. Joy Boli was a trader in the area.
PCJSS Bandarban district unit president Uchomong Marma said Joy Boli was a businessman and a supporter of the CHT Accord. His Son Rupan Tonchongya is not an active member of PCP, but was an activist once.
Uchomong said the deceased was killed by a faction of Arakan Liberation Party which is locally known as MOG Party. They were hostile towards PCJSS since the last parliamentary election.
Insecurity and uncertainty gripped PCJSS members, he said.
