SSC results published with 88.29 pass rate

The results of Secondary School Certificate and its equivalent examinations published on Wednesday morning with pass rate 88.29 per cent which last year was 87.04 per cent.
Total 1,90,761 students secured the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) this year.
In eight education boards, 88.70 per cent passed this year’s SSC examinations with 96,769 securing the GPA-5 while 88.02 per cent passed in equivalent examinations.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid formally handed over the results to prime minister Sheikh Hasina at 10:00am.
Students can collect results afterwards from respective institutions.
The examinees will get their results from the respective centres, websites of the respective boards and through SMS from 2:00pm.
The results will also be available at www.educationboardresults.gov.bd
This year, some 16.51 lakh students — 8.43 lakh boys and 8.08 girls — of 28,119 institutions took the exams at 3,143 centres across the country. Of them, 14.74 lakh are regular and 1.73 lakh irregular.
This year, 13.04 lakh students took the SSC exams under eight general education boards, 2.48 lakh students under Madrassah board and 98 thousand students took the exams under the technical education board.
Exams of all subjects but Bangla second paper, English first and second papers were held with question papers in creative method. The written exams began on February 1 and concluded on March 8.
In 2015, SSC and equivalent examinations results marked a significant decrease with the combined pass rate standing at 87.04 per cent, which was 4.30 percentage points lower than that of the previous year.
