Cops shot a ‘miscreant’ dead in city

A suspected miscreant was killed in a police shootout at Purba Monipur in the city’s Mirpur area early Thursday, United News of Bangladesh reports. Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. The sub-inspector, Muktaruzzaman, of Mirpur police station said a group of miscreants exploded crude bombs targeting police patrol team around 3:20am. The law enforcers then started firing bullets, killing one of the miscreants on the spot. His aides, however, managed to flee the scene. The body was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
