3,814 schools in flood-hit dists closed
Flooding forced closure of at least 3,814 primary and secondary schools until Tuesday, seriously hampering education of thousands of students in 12 northern and north-eastern districts.
Flood engulfs country’s middle areas
Millions of people, marooned by floods, evacuated themselves to schools, embankments, and highways in northeastern districts for shelter in last couple of days. The marooned are struggling to cope with untold sufferings being caused by non- availability of food, drinking water and medicines.

Six embankments collapse in Lalmonirhat flooding fresh areas
The flood situation in Lalmonirhat worsened further as six embankments collapsed due to strong current in the Teesta and Dharla rivers, inundating fresh areas of the district. Following the collapse, some 19 villages went under water freshly and more than one hundred houses were eroded by the rivers.
Dinajpur-Dhaka rail link halted for floods
Rail communications of Dinajpur with Dhaka remained suspended since Sunday night as rail tracks in Dinajpur sadar went under water. Dinajpur railway station master Monirul Islam said rail links of Dinajpur with Dhaka and Panchagarh remained halted as rail tracks were marooned.

10 lakh people marooned, 18 die as flood engulfs 20 districts
At least 18 people were killed in three districts and more than 10 lakh people were marooned as fresh flood engulfed 20 districts on Sunday while major rivers continued to rise because of onrush of water from India and heavy rains.

Heavy (44-88mm) to very heavy (89mm or more) rainfall is likely to occur at places over Sylhet and Chittagong divisions during next 24 hours beginning at 10:00am on Monday.
Teesta Barrage flood bypass road collapses, red alert issued
More than two lakh people of 30 unions in Lalmonirhat’s five upazilas -- Patgram, Kaliganj, Hatibandha, Aditmari and Sadar -- have been marooned by floodwaters as both the Teesta and Dharla rivers were flowing above the danger level.
Fresh floods inundate 14 dists
Floods inundated many areas in at least 14 districts afresh after a break of a few weeks as all major rivers were overflowing in north-eastern regions on Saturday because of onrush of waters from India along with continuous rainfall caused by active monsoon.
