Farid Hossain (born 3 April 1953) is a senior journalist and former bureau chief of the Associated Press (AP), Bangladesh. He also served as the Minister (Press) at Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi over four years (2016-2020).

Farid started his career as a journalist since 1976 and spent most of his career working for international media, including Time magazine. He obtained honours and masters in English literature from Dhaka University.

Farid is a freedom fighter. He served as senior vice-president of Jatiya Press Club, president of Overseas Correspondent Association of Bangladesh (OCAB), president of Commonwealth Journalist association, Bangladesh. As an AP correspondent, he covered many regional and international events.
