Iqbal Hasan Mahmood Tuku (born 1950) is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) politician, former State Minister and former Member of Parliament representing Sirajganj-2 constituency. Tuku was the eldest son of Abdullah al Mahmood, Minister of Industries and Natural Resources of Pakistan and the brother-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister of Bangladesh MA Matin.
Tuku served as the State Minister of Power in the Bangladesh Nationalist Party government from October 2001 – May 2006. He also served as the State Minister of Agriculture from May 2006 – October 2006.
Tuku was elected the first Member of Parliament from the Jatiya Party in the seat vacated by then Deputy Prime Minister Dr. MA Matin in 1986 through by election. Again he was elected as a parliament member in 1988 under Jatiya Party. He joined the BNP after the fall of the dictatorial government Ershad in 1990. Now he is one of the most influential standing committee member’s of BNP.
