Mosharraf Hossain Shahjahan (19 September 1939 – 5 May 2012) was a former State Minister, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) politician and former Member of Parliament representing Bhola-1 and Bhola-2 constituency. He was elected Member of Parliament sixth time from Bhola. He was a former Deputy Minister and State Minister of Bangladesh Government.
Shahjahan was involved in various cultural activities in his early life including drama, journalism, recitation, photography. He also wrote the play 'Neer Bhanga Jhar' in his student days. From Bhola he published 'Pakshik Meghna Patrika' during the Pakistan period. The first Bhola Press Club was established on his initiative in 1968. He was elected the President of that Press Club. He was the first to publish the weekly Bholabani in 1980.
In 1965, at the age of 25, Shahjaha was elected as an MP and became involved in politics. He was the 1st freedom fighter organizer in Bhola. Once a member of Awami League, Shahjahan joined Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) during its formation at the call of Ziaur Rahman. He was elected MP from BNP in 1979. President Zia nominated him as Deputy Minister and District Development Coordinator of Greater Barisal. In 1991, he was appointed Minister of State for Water Resources in the first cabinet of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, and in 2001, he was appointed Minister of State for Religious Affairs in the second cabinet of Khaleda Zia.
Shahjahan died on 5 May 2012 in United Hospital, Dhaka where he was under treatment for heart ailment.
