Khandaker Asaduzzaman (22 October 1935 – 25 April 2020) was a Bangladeshi Civil Servant and is known as the First Finance Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh. He was a politician from Tangail district, a freedom fighter and a former Member of Parliament for represented Tangail-2 (Gopalpur-Bhuapur) constituency.
Zaman was born in Naruchi of Gopalpur upazila in Tangail district. He passed MA with BA (Hons). Zaman was the organizer of the freedom fighters. Before independence he was the youngest Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi. On 5 January 1971, he was appointed Joint Secretary in the Finance Department of the East Pakistan Provincial Government. He was the Finance Secretary of the Mujibnagar Government.
Zaman was former advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Chairman of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Parishad, Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Parishad and the Chairman of the Establishment Ministry. He was also elected president of Dhaka Club Limited for 2 consecutive years.
Zaman was arrested in 1971 for his valiant role during the Liberation of Bangladesh and was placed beside the jail of our 4 national leaders; Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Capt. Mansur Ali and AHM Quamruzzaman.
Khandaker Asaduzzaman died on 25 April 2020 of a heart attack.
