A M Amin Uddin (born 1 October 1963) is a senior lawyer of Bangladesh who is currently serving as the 16th Attorney General of Bangladesh. On 8 October 2020, President Abdul Hamid appointed him as Attorney General. Prior to that, he also served as Deputy Attorney General.
Amin was born at Kulaura of Moulvibazar district. He did HSC from Dhaka City College and BA from Dhaka College. Then he did LLB in 1982 from Central Law College.
Amin was enrolled as a lawyer for the lower court in 1987. On 28 October 1989 he became a registered lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court. In 2003, he became a lawyer enrolled in the Appellate Division. Amin was appointed as a senior advocate of the Supreme Court in 2015.
Since 2019, Amin has been serving as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association. From 2006 to 2008, he served as the secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association for two terms. He was Assistant Attorney General for four years from 1996–2000. He was appointed a deputy attorney general in 2000 and discharged the duties until the then Awami League government was in the state office till October 2001.
