Humayun Kabir popularly known as Rajib Humayun (14 January 1951 – 05 July 2017) was a Bangladeshi Linguist, Playwright, Nazrul Researcher and former Professor of Dhaka University Bangla department. He is the founding chairperson of the university's Linguistics department.

Humayun was born to Maulvi Syed Ahmad and Azmatummesa Begum of Chittagong's Sandwip. He graduated from the Dhaka University Bengali Department in 1972 and received his post-graduate degree two years later i.e. in 1974. He started his career as a teacher by joining Chittagong University after getting PhD degree from India's Pune University in 1978. He also worked in Jahangirnagar University.

Humayun joined Dhaka University's Bangla Department as an associate professor in 1985. He served as the founding chairman of Dhaka University Linguistics Department since 1992. He was also a member of Dhaka University senate. He took voluntary retirement from the university in 2004.

Humayun was the elder brother of young freedom fighter Jasim, tortured and killed in the hands of executed war criminal and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mir Kashem Ali. He was the main witness in the case filed against Kashem.

Humayun had taken part in a number of Bangladesh Television programs and written many plays. He was president of the Chittagong chapter of Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi, an organisation of artistes.

Humayun, the linguist elaborately researched on the life and works of eminent litterateur, journalist and politician Abul Mansur Ahmad and later published a book titled “Abul Mansur Ahmad-er Byango Rachana” in 1985. For this work, Humayun received “Abul Mansur Ahmad Gobeshona Puroshkar” in 2015. Humayun has authored a series of books on linguistics and the works of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. He has also edited the Sandwiper Itihas (History of Sandwip).

Humayun was associated with the International Council of Teacher Education (CTE). He served as the coordinator of CTE in Bangladesh until 2014. He was associated with publications of various organizations including Bangla Academy, Asiatic Society. Researcher Humayun's notable publications include Nazrul and World Culture, Nazrul Islam and Bangladeshi Literature, Nazrul's Writing Techniques, Abul Mansoor Ahmad's Satire and Cultural Thought, Sociolinguistics, Society and Culture. Humayun's television dramas include Mahaprasthan (1984), Neelpaniya (1986), Mago Tumi Keman Acho (1999), Briefcase, A Family Story, Laguk Dola. His only stage play 'Neelpaniya' has also been published in books.
