Nasreen Ahmad (born 1947) is the first female Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) of Dhaka University. She is an educationist, environmental scientist and freedom fighter who participated in the Bangladesh Liberation War. She takes pride in her active involvement with the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra at Mujibnagar in 1971, the famous Bengali broadcasting center established by the freedom fighters, as its English newscaster. She read the English news regularly as "Zareen Ahmad" along with taking part in other programs.

Nasreen was born in Kolkata. Her mother is Begum Badrunnessa Ahmed and his father is Nooruddin Ahmed. In 1965, she passed his secondary examination through English medium from Vikarunnisa Noon School and Higher Secondary Examination from Holy Cross College. After that, she obtained bachelor's and master's degrees from the Department of Geography and Environmental Science of Dhaka University. Later she obtained a doctorate degree.

Nasreen was an active activist in the nationalist movement of the 1969 mass uprising in Bangladesh. She was elected Common Room Affairs Secretary as a candidate of Chhatra League in Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) election held in 1970-71 session. During the liberation war, she used to read English news from Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra.

Nasreen started her career as a geography teacher in 1974. In 1984, she joined the Department of Geography and Environmental Science of Dhaka University as an Assistant Professor. She was promoted to the rank of professor in 2000. In 2011-12 session, she served as the department chairperson. She served as the elected Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences. She served as the Project Director and Founder Principal of Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall of Dhaka University. From 2012 to June 2020, she served as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) of Dhaka University. Currently, she is serving as the chairman of Begum Badrunnesa Ahmad Trust.

Nasreen's husband Imran Ahmad is a six-time Member of Parliament elected from Sylhet-4 Constituency and currently serves as the Minister of Expatriate Welfare and Employment Ministry of Bangladesh Government.
