Md. Tajul Islam Chowdhury (31 October 1944 – 13 August 2018was a Bangladeshi politician of Kurigram district. He was elected as a member of parliament seven times from Rangpur-14 and Kurigram-2 constituencies. During the Ershad government, he served as the state minister for land and youth & sports and minister of land.
Chowdhury was a presidium member of the Jatiya Party. He was elected a Member of Parliament for the first time as a candidate of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) from the then Rangpur-14 constituency in the second parliamentary elections of 1979.
Chowdhury was the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on the commerce ministry. He also served as the Opposition Chief Whip.
Chowdhury died on 13 August 2018 at United Hospital in Dhaka. He had been suffering various age-related complications, including kidney and heart.
