Professor Dr. M A Mannan (2 December 1932-16 July 2016) was a Bangladeshi politician, neurologist and former Member of Parliament of Kishoreganj 2 (Katiadi-Pakundia) constituency in 2001, 2008 and 2014. He was a Bangladesh Awami League Advisory Council member and former lawmaker. He also served as a member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Women & Children Affairs and Ministry of Health & Family Planning.
Mannan was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to education.
A participant of the 1952 Language Movement, Dr. Mannan was the founder of Dr. Abdul Mannan Women's College in Katiadi. He was the founding Head of Department of Neurology of Institute of Post-Graduation and Medical Research (now named BSMMU). He was the founder-president of Neurology Foundation, Dhaka and Epilepsy Association of Bangladesh. He was also the founder of Bangladesh Tourism.
He served twice as the president of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.
In this capacity, he was instrumental in gaining the recognition of MBBS degree given by medical colleges (DMC & SSMC) in Bangladesh by the relevant authority in the UK.
He had developed a new medicine to treat Latherism.
