Quarrel over cricket claims GPA 5 holder’s life
A schoolboy was killed in a quarrel over playing cricket in the capital’s Mirpur on Wednesday, hours before his result of GPA 5 in this year’s secondary school certificate examinations was out. The victim was identified as Babul Shikder, 17, son of Mostafa Shikder and resident of Barabagh area of Mirpur.

Nizami hanged
Jamaat-e-Islami amir Motiur Rahman Nizami was hanged at Dhaka Central Jail on early Wednesday for crimes against humanity committed during the 1971 War of Independence. Nizami, 73, was hanged at 12:10am on Wednesday, senior jail superintendent Jahangir Kabir told reporters at the jail gate.
