Body of missing businessman found in Buriganga

The body of Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Hasan Khaled was found in river Buriganga on Tuesday, three days after he went missing on Saturday.
Keraniganj police sub-inspector Ilias Sharif said they found the body near Sign Board Ghat at around 1:00pm and confirmed his identity through visiting cards found with him.
Khaled remained missing since he had left home at Dhanmondi on Saturday morning, Dhanmondi police station officer-in-charge Nur-e Azam Mia told New Age.
He said that the businessman’s brother-in-law Shariful Alam lodged a general diary with his police station Saturday night mentioning that Hasan Khaled left for his office at New Eskaton Road in the city from his residence around 9:30am Saturday.
Referring to the GD, he said that his family could not communicate with him after he left the residence and his mobile was found switched off.
The OC said that they were investigating the matter.
Khaled’s family on Sunday night said they contacted every possible place and person he could be acquainted with but he could not be traced.
They said that Khaled also did not contact them since he went missing.
