Prosecution’s closing arguments against Jabbar begins Nov 25

The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Monday set November 25 to begin the closing arguments of the prosecution in the war crimes case against absconding Abdul Jabbar Engineer, a former Jatiya Party lawmaker.Tribunal’s presiding judge, Justice M Enayetur Rahim, set the date after completion of cross-examination of war crimes investigator Md Helal Uddin, the 24th and the last prosecution witness against Jabbar.Defence lawyer Mohammad Abu Hasan cross-examined Helal who had probed into the war crimes allegations against Jabbar.Helal on Sunday had testified that Jabbar was the chairman of Mothbaria Peace Committee in Pirojpur that led armed Razakar Bahini and committed crimes against humanity directly and indirectly.
