Common problems must be addressed jointly: Indian HC

Indian high commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla said common problems between Bangladesh and India must be addressed jointly by the two neighbouring nations.
‘The problem you face today we may face it tomorrow or we have a problem today it could be yours tomorrow. So we must work together to address the common problems,’ he said while talking to journalists after inaugurating the 3rd India Education Fair in the capital on Friday.
Replying to a question on how his country would assist Bangladesh in security issues, Harsh Vardhan said that a very good cooperation already existed between the two nations to fight extremism.
He said that both the Indian president, Pranab Mukherjee, and prime minister Narendra Modi assured Bangladesh home minister Asaduzzaman Khan of strong cooperation from their side to help combat terrorism and militancy during the meeting.
Azaduzzaman on the first day of his two-day visit to India on Thursday called on the Indian president and the prime minister and discussed bilateral issues, including the current situation in Bangladesh.
Shringla termed the visit of Bangladesh’s home minister to India ‘productive’ and ‘very timely’ one in terms of addressing some common issues emerged recently.
SAPE Events and Media Private Ltd, an educational fair organiser, has arranged the two-day education fair with participation of a total of 35 institutions including schools, colleges and technical institutes from India.
The Indian high commissioner said that the fair would promote education opportunity for Bangladeshi students in the diversified and quality educational institutions in India.
